Mapping the Kenyan Entrepreneurship Network
"Unlocking Productivity and Securing the Future Economy Through High-Growth Companies"
Kenya’s entrepreneurial ecosystem is brimming with potential — but how well do we really understand its structure, its strengths, and the gaps that hold it back? To answer this question, Endeavor Insight partnered with Endeavor Kenya to undertake a comprehensive study of the country’s entrepreneurship network, examining the role that founders — particularly those leading high-growth companies — play in driving Kenya’s economic growth.
The research draws on more than 100 founder interviews conducted between April and May 2025, alongside data from over 730 companies and their founders. Its aim is twofold: to surface the real challenges founders face on the ground, and to equip decision-makers with the insights needed to better support high-growth companies and strengthen the wider ecosystem.
Launching the Map: An Morning of Conversation and Collaboration
The findings came to life at the launch of Mapping Kenya’s Entrepreneurship Network, held at Capital Club Nairobi. The event brought together the people who matter most to this work — founders of high-growth and emerging companies, policymakers, investors, corporate leaders, Entrepreneur Support Organizations (ESOs), and development partners — united around a shared question: What does Kenya’s entrepreneurship network really look like, and how can we strengthen it together?

Maryanne Ochola, Managing Director of Endeavor Kenya, opened proceedings by walking attendees through the report’s key findings, offering context and framing the conversations that would follow with clarity and purpose.

A panel discussion then brought the data to life. Makenzi Muthusi (Partner, KPMG & Endeavor Kenya Board Member), Ken Njoroge (Founder & CEO, Pani & Endeavor Kenya Board Member), and Dr. Tonny K. Omwansa (Chairman, IAA Africa) explored what the findings mean in practice — for founders navigating the ecosystem, policymakers shaping it, and builders investing in its long-term future.

With GratitudeThis work would not have been possible without the collaboration of Endeavor Insight, and the generous support of KPMG and Africa Practice, whose commitment helped bring both the research and the launch event to fruition.
To every founder and ecosystem stakeholder who joined us — thank you. The map has been drawn. Now comes the work of building stronger, more intentional connections across it.
